It all starts before he walks into the studio. Driving into the parking lot, he finds a parking spot as far away from the building as possible, just to get a head start on his warm up. Opening the door, he quickly walks to the men’s room to drop off his keys. No time to dilly dally. No conversation. It’s all business. A quick wave and “how ya doin” to the trainers and clients he passes by and then it’s on to the rower. 500 meters, no less. Then, after a few minutes of dynamic stretching, Mike Embree is ready to tackle another tough workout at Empower Personal Training. Follow that up with a post workout smoothie and it’s back to the job site. All in a day’s work, I’ll say.
He gives it his all every training session, he’s always motivated, and he’s a hilarious guy to boot. That’s what makes Mike Embree one of our many awesome clients here at Empower. Mike started training with us over 5 months ago, ready to step up and change his lifestyle. He was used to running 1-2 times per week, but had never participated in a regular strength training routine since his college days at NC State. He wanted to lose some weight, get stronger, and increase his sales as an insurance agent. He thought that starting a regular exercise routine here at Empower would help him to do that. Fast forward several months and it’s clear that he has accomplished many of his goals. Mike has truly made a lifestyle change and is dedicated to his workouts. In fact, he once came in to workout even though he left his gym shoes at home! There was just no way that he was going to miss his session. Fortunately, we keep an extra pair of sneakers around for moments like that! Talk to Mike and he’ll tell you he feels great. He’s also convinced that his healthy lifestyle is having a positive impact on his business, as his sales have improved since he started exercising. We’re certainly proud of Mike and all that he’s accomplished.
