Personal Trainer
Rae Villines
NASM-CPT
Growing up in North Carolina, Rae has always been active in sports. He was a 3 sport athlete participating in basketball, track, and football. While being a part of competitive teams that were very physical, he began to understand the importance of strength and conditioning training. In high school he began doing individual research to make plans for himself and worked with a performance trainer to increase performance. This ultimately sparked his interest in human performance. He was a 1st place State winner in multiple events including 200m, high jump, long jump and 4×400. After receiving scholarships in both track and basketball, he decided to continue his track career collegiately at UNC Chapel Hill. While attending, Rae majored in Exercise Sport Science with a concentration in Fitness Professionalism.
Rae has spent the last 4 years providing personal and sports performance development training privately and/or within team settings. He has worked with clients of all ages and levels of fitness. He continues to be a leader in his community for the youth by providing coaching and mentorship to help athletes not only reach their athletic goals, but to also become future leaders of their communities. He has helped coach 3 state championship boys’ basketball teams and two girls’ state runner up 400m and shot put champions in track. He’s helped over 15+ kids receive collegiate scholarships. His knowledge and experience in functional training and human movement allows him to design programs that help individuals become strong and efficient “movers” in their sport and daily living activities.
While away from the studio, Rae also coaches XC, basketball, and track and field at The Burlington School. He also runs skill and development training for youth, collegiate, and pro basketball players. A lot of his time is spent with youth development, but in his spare time he also enjoys playing basketball, lifting, watching youtube, and gaming.
