Personal Trainer
Amanda Moffatt
CPT, AFAA
Amanda has worked in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years. Throughout her personal training career she has had experience working with clients who simply want to stay strong and healthy as well as clients with a range of health concerns from diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and dementia, to those recovering from stroke or heart attack.
She also has a special talent (and great energy) for leading group fitness classes and has taught classes like water aerobics, cycling, step, strength, balance and core, yoga and mat Pilates to a variety of people ages 18 to 80. Her class participants come regularly and often recommend her to others. They enjoy her well rounded, full body workouts knowing they will be taught correct form.
Amanda was always interested in the root of human behavior which led to a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UNC Chapel Hill. During her time there she began weight training at the rec center and running regularly. She continued her running journey during her study abroad opportunity in Glasgow, Scotland completing two half marathons. This was when she knew exercise could truly change her mental, emotional, and physical self. She wanted to follow this path and help others obtain the same freedom. The combination of her human studies and fitness knowledge made her immediately successful in connecting with clients and creating fun and effective personalized workouts that help them attain their goals.
Amanda is a certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as a certified mat Pilates and Yoga through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America.
Believing in the full circle of health, Amanda also has a deep interest in nutrition and healthy cooking and has conducted monthly cooking demonstrations at a weight loss facility to guide people to better nutrition.
Her biggest success yet is becoming a mother. During her pregnancy Amanda was committed to the hot yoga room until her due date giving her strength and clarity. Her daughter was born during quarantine which allowed her to focus entirely on motherhood. She found this to be the most humbling experience and truly gained life perspective. Her daughter Brooklyn is almost 3. She loves taking her on daily adventures to show her the world and teach her how to be a good human.
When Amanda is not helping others become fit and healthy, she enjoys her own yoga practice, cooking , seeing live music, sitting by the water (any type really), and field trips with her daughter.
