Cody is from Greensboro, North Carolina and spent most of his time growing up there. As a kid, Cody played a variety of sports, but settled into soccer, football, and basketball in high school. Upon arriving as a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill, Cody originally planned on becoming a Business major, but his passion for sport and human performance led him to pursue an Exercise and Sport Science degree. During his time at UNC, Cody tried out for the varsity football program twice before finally making the team as a walk-on kicker. In his final semester he was awarded a full-ride scholarship from the Athletic Department. Cody also interned with EMPOWER before becoming a full-time trainer in July of 2014.

– Cody turned down an NFL tryout with the Dallas Cowboys.
– Cody has a twin brother.
– As a kid, Cody’s main sport was inline speed skating.
