Amy Allen woke up on a dreary December morning in 2013. Just like every other day, she would get up, eat a plain piece of boring toast, drive the drudging drive to her plain gym, and complete another tedious workout in a massive group fitness setting. However, as she was on her way back to her house, Amy had an idea. What if she changed it up the next day? What if there was another way? Newer, smaller classes with variety. Classes that were vibrant and intense; and taught by extraordinary individuals. And what if those same individuals could also be her personal trainers, and would know how to modify exercises to best align with her fitness goals?
“Pshh!…There’s no place like that in Raleigh” Amy said, partially laughing and belittling her own idea. But then she saw it. It was a brief glimpse, but she saw it. The new training studio that had opened on Blue Ridge road. “Empower Personalized Fitness” Amy whispered. And then she did the unthinkable. Instead of continuing her drive home, Amy veered to the right, into the parking garage of the Met Life building. As she looked through the ground floor, she saw it. The blazing red of the EMPOWER sign outside the door. Amy timidly began walking through the building doors, towards the front entrance of the EMPOWER studio. But something was different. With every step she took, she became more confident, more sure of her decision to explore this new place. As she opened the door, she immediately knew that this would become her new fitness destination. It was the place she had envisioned: vibrant classes; extraordinary instructors; the best personal training in the land. And best of all, it was all in one spot.

Amy awoke. It was a gorgeous December morning in 2014. She felt energized and ready to complete her day, after all, she had been working at EMPOWER for about a year now. She was aware of how strong she had become and how much better she was felt today than a year ago. Looking back, she was mindful of all of her accomplished goals so far: to tone up, have more energy throughout the day, and to get stronger; goals she had worked so very hard to complete and continued to strive for every single day since starting at EMPOWER.
While she was eating her breakfast, Amy heard a knock on her door. Looking through the peephole, she saw a chauffeur, and behind him the sleek black limo emblazoned by the Red and Silver EMPOWER logo. As she threw open her door, confetti magically began falling from the sky as choirs of Angels sang and trumpets sounded. As the EMPOWER paparazzi gathered around her, snapping pictures and asking questions, Amy reminisced to the moment that began her fitness journey, the day she had suddenly decided to check out EMPOWER Personalized Fitness; the day her routine changed.
Congratulations Amy! You’ve certainly earned the title of December CotM! Keep up the fantastic work!
