VIRGINIA KINKEL

she/her

BS, NCSF-CPT

With more than 21 years of experience in the fitness industry, Virginia has built a career rooted in helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident—both inside and outside the gym. From personal training and fitness management in large-scale health clubs to owning and operating boutique fitness businesses, her passion has always centered on creating supportive spaces where people can thrive.

Virginia was the previous owner of Bodymass Gym, a boutique strength training facility with locations in Arlington, Virginia and Washington, DC. Alongside her husband, Kris, she co-founded Bodymass Composition Testing, where they use DEXA scans and Resting Metabolic Rate testing to help clients better understand their bodies and create realistic, sustainable frameworks for achieving their health and fitness goals.

While Virginia has worked with a wide range of clients throughout her career, she especially enjoys helping those who are new to fitness and may feel intimidated stepping into a gym or getting under a barbell for the first time. She is passionate about building confidence through strength training and believes fitness can be a powerful tool for both physical and mental empowerment.

Originally from Massachusetts, Virginia spent 12 years living in Washington, DC before relocating to Durham, North Carolina with her family over three years ago. She lives with her husband and their two young daughters. Outside of coaching and business ownership, Virginia is a competitive bodybuilder in the NPC Bikini Division and is currently preparing for her first powerlifting meet in 2026. When she’s not in the gym, her favorite place to recharge is the off-the-grid cabin she and her family own in the mountains of West Virginia—where a few days without electricity, running water, cell service, or Wi-Fi feels like the ultimate reset.
