Cayla Cason
CPT, FNS
Cayla has almost a decade of experience in the fitness industry, working with clients to increase their fitness confidence and achieve their health goals. She enjoys working with those that are beginners to strength training as well as those that are looking for a new challenge in their fitness journey. Cayla believes in a functional training approach to exercise and helping clients increase their flexibility, improve mobility, as well as meet their strength goals, regardless of where they are starting from.
Before joining the Empower team in 2022, Cayla had worked in the health and wellness industry in several capacities, including as a group fitness instructor, private and small group personal trainer, and wellness coach. Her vast experience has exposed Cayla to many different training modalities and has provided her with a wealth of knowledge that she uses with every client.
Cayla is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Certified Personal Training (CPT) and a Fitness Nutrition Specialist (FNS) and is a Wellcoaches Certified Health & Well-being Coach. She holds both a bachelors and masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
When she is not training clients, she also works as a data analyst for Duke University Health System in population health. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring her favorite city [Durham!] with her friends, reading bestselling novels, traveling with her husband, and, of course, working out.
