It is always a good idea to re-visit your health and fitness goals. What better time to do that than BEFORE the festivities of the holiday season knock you off course? Our Healthy Holiday Initiative is designed to help you stay on track through this busy time.
Holiday schedules tend to leave us feeling busy, tired, and stressed and therefore giving us an excuse not to exercise. But slacking off on your fitness program will only leave you with more pounds — and more stress — come New Year’s. It is very important to maintain a REGULAR exercise routine to manage your weight, your stress, and your life better during this festive but busy time of year.
When it comes to nutrition MODERATION is always the key, but it is even more during the holiday party season (when many Americans gain an average of five pounds). You can still enjoy a spirited drink or decadent dessert but make sure you watch your portions.
Have REALISTIC expectations about what you can and cannot do and don’t be afraid to say “no.” Asking others for help and planning ahead can lessen the stressfulness of the holidays.
Ask one of our trainers how you can fill out our Healthy Holiday Survival report card. It is chock-full of great tips that will assist you in maintaining your health and wellness goals. Cheers!
